Question: Why Are We Still In Afghanistan?

Aside from Obama trying to show the world he is “tough” on foreign policy, what other reason could there be for us sending even more troops there?

Whenever you are ready President Obama: You have my support in a speedy exit out of Afghanistan.

You coming along HP. The pretexts really have evaporated, yet we’re still there. Must be that there is some other purpose for our presence. Frankly I’m not sure I know what it is, but I don’t think Obama is so stupid as to fight a war for no reason.

Now for the next phase though. I have to keep pushing you. Did the pretexts regarding Iraq mask a different purpose?

I can make an argument for Iraq…not for Afghanistan.

    I can’t.

I was an unenthusiastic supporter of the war in Afghansitan, and I opposed the war in Iraq. In retrospect, both wars were a mistake.
