The first national LATISM Heritage Tour will kick off in Houston, Texas on September 24, 2009. The tour, which coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month, will bring together the greatest minds in social media today with stops in New York, Houston and Orlando.
In recognition of the growing buying power and increased market share of the Hispanic population, many companies are seeing the need to connect with this group through many avenues, including social media.
In order to educate bloggers, marketing executives and the public about latinos in the United States and their increased use of Social Media, the first ever Latism Heritage Tour will debut September 24th.
This tour will cover such topics as Latino Marketing, Social Media Trending, Networking & Deal Closing and Branding & Promotion. SEO experts and social media gurus will speak on these topics and more.
The summit will not only offer opportunities to network with colleagues, there will be opportunities to meet with decision makers in the Hispanic social marketing world. There is also an impressive list of speakers scheduled for the event. Speakers include Chris Brogan, president of New Marketing Labs and Seth Godin, bestselling author and marketing consultant.
In addition to the summit, winners of the first ever LatISM Awards will be announced. The awards will give official recognition to the best Latinos and Latinas in Social Media, along with the best companies and non-for-profit organizations targeting Hispanics through Social Media.
With 21 million projected Latino internet users by 2010, Latinos are adopting social media as their primary source of communication, news and entertainment faster than any other group. Their buying power is projected to reach $1.3 Trillion by 2013.
