Bush’s Pick For The Supreme Court? An Educated Guess

Based on blogs I’ve read and my own personal intuition, I would like to speculate on who I think Bush, tonight at 9pm EST, will nominate to the Supreme Court.

  • First Guess: Edith H. Jones ( known as the female Scalia )
  • Second Guess: Edith Clement
  • Third Guess: Emilio Garza

All three sit on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.

All three are fine with me, with Garza and Jones being my personal favorites.

Update: Boy was I wrong, but boy am I still VERY very pleased, it is John Roberts Jr., a good second pick to the nominees above.

    1st guess: Clement

    2nd guess: Garza.

I like what they are saying about Clement which is:

“Clement has a reputation among lawyers as a no-nonsense judge who insists on professionalism in her courtroom and is strict about deadlines. While she is known as a judicial conservative, she also has been known to lean toward the defense in civil cases”.

I hope it is Garza. Jones would be good too.

    Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh,

I don’t know who this guy is. I was pulling for Garza, but I’ll read upon him. Do you or DD have anything on him?

Don’t worry, Roberts is definitely a good pick.

More information about him can be found here and here.

I don’t knoe enough about this guy to make any judgements about him. He has been a judge for a short period and as a lawyer, one can not judge where he stands becuase he is doing the work his bosses instruct him too. A lot to flesh out in the hearings.
