CNN reports,
The president, for example, garnered 48 percent of the female vote, up 5 percent from 2000. While Bush lost the Latino vote — winning 44 percent to Kerry’s 53 percent (other candidates split the remainder) — he gained 9 points from four years ago, which proved significant in states like Florida and New Mexico with large Latino or Hispanic populations.
Wow. 42% is almost 1/2, especially if you consider that Kerry only got 53%.
That’s right people; it is us Hispanics that gave President Bush his re-election. This sends a strong signal to the politicians in power that we are not blindly following one party; we make informed decisions and vote our conscious. So both parties have to fight for our vote, instead of assume it’s already in their pocket.
